Meet Eddie

Eddie Lara, 27, Monterey Park, is a multi-talented actor and musician. He holds a degree in Drum Performance from the Los Angeles College of Music and also plays guitar, with synth keyboards being his newest focus.

On the autism spectrum, Eddie says music and film help him understand and express emotions. Lyrics give language to feelings he struggles to name, while movies show him what those emotions look like, helping him connect with others—something that hasn’t always come easily.

Through patience and practice, Eddie earned a spot drumming for the Bishop Amat Memorial High School marching band, using that success as motivation to keep moving forward.

Acting has since become another powerful creative outlet, and his role in Easterseals’ Every1 With Autism Belongs PSA campaign marks his second professional acting gig, having also appeared in a campaign to raise awareness about suicide prevention for another organization.
